- What’s your name?
My name is Carl Vaslon.
- What’s your job role?
I am currently a Project Manager at Interlink. So my role involves managing our current projects to ensure they stay on track in terms of time, resources and that we’re sticking to our budgets. It means a lot of the time I’m the middle man for communication between my team and our clients.
- What path led you to the job?
I kind of fell into it actually, I just landed it from a job ad 10 years ago.
- What is your favorite part about working in our industry?
I think my favourite part is the international aspect of it all, that makes each project unique and requires us to be attentive and responsive throughout the entire process.
- What’s a typical workday look like for you?
There is no typical workday! I’m monitoring each project on a daily basis and responding to all my colleagues, project partners; designers, suppliers … it is a lot of emails!
- What has been your favourite project to work on thus far at Interlink?
I think the one that really sticks out for me is at Saloka Park, Indonesia. It wasn’t an easy project to work on, but thanks to our incredible teamwork we pulled it all off and the satisfaction from that made it all worth it.
- Do you have any advice for any young people that might want to enter the attractions industry?
Do not neglect your studies because even though our industry and products are fun, the technical side is still essential and without a good education our jobs wouldn’t be possible.
- What is your favourite theme park ride?
I think The Rapid River, that we installed for Saloka Park, has to be the one – Salatiga Rapid River!
